STI Norland has started supplying its photovoltaic equipment to a 474 MWp project located in Oliveira dos Brejinhos, in the Brazilian state of Bahia.
STI Norland's solar trackers will direct more than a million bifacial panels towards the sun, characterized by capturing solar irradiance on both sides of the panel.
Once fully operational, the plant will be able to generate more than 1,150 GWh of clean energy per year, which will be entirely destined for the free market. Construction work will end in the second half of 2021.
The Sol do Sertão project is owned by Essentia Energia, a renewable energy company whose financial partner is Pátria Investimentos, one of the largest Brazilian investment groups.
