The government-owned corporation of Sri Lanka, Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), has launched a request for proposal (RfP) tender for the development of solar photovoltaic farms of an individual generating capacity of 1 MW to 10 MW, and a combined generating capacity of 150 MW under the Build-Own-Operate (BOO) scheme.
CEB will be purchasing the energy outputs of the solar plants under a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPP) with a tariff of LKR15.6 (US$0.086) per kWh.
The release tender document specifies the 20 substations that will that can accommodate the projects. The bidders are required to specify that the intended grid substation to which their proposed projects will be connected.
The selected winner of the bid will be responsible for the design, delivery, installation, commissioning, and operation of the solar photovoltaic (PV) farms.
The deadline for the submission of bids is on May 21, 2020.
