Synera Renewable Energy Group (SRE Group) has announced that its Formosa 4 Offshore Wind Project has signed a long-term corporate power purchase agreement (CPPA) with Taiwan Smart Electricity & Energy (TSEE).
Under the newly concluded CPPA, Formosa 4 will reserve a set share of its future output for TSEE once it connects to the grid. TSEE will then sell this green electricity through its platform to companies seeking to meet their decarbonization goals. The agreement offers long-term revenue stability for Formosa 4 and reinforces the project’s financial backing. Formosa 4 secured 495 MW in the first auction round of Phase 3 Zonal Development in 2022, and in late 2024, it became the first project among the initial winners to obtain an establishment permit. When operational, the offshore wind farm is expected to generate enough renewable energy to supply roughly 500,000 households each year. The project will be built off the coast of Miaoli County.
