Squadron Energy, in partnership with Andrew Forrest, is planning to invest up to AUD3 billion (US$2.19 billion) to develop a 1.2 GW wind-solar-battery energy storage complex in Queensland, Australia.

The Clarke Creek renewable energy complex was initially developed by the Australian unit of Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology and Australia-based Lacour Energy.

The 450 MW Phase 1 of the project will begin construction about 150 km northwest of Rockhampton with target commissioning by 2024. Stanwell Corp has signed a power purchase agreement with the 346.5 MW capacity of the project.
