SPIE will be responsible for connecting to the local power grid the Kroningswind onshore windfarm, which represents no fewer than 19 wind turbines. Once completed, this sustainable project will provide power to approximately 65,000 households.
With 19 Vestas V117 wind turbines and a capacity of approximately 80 MW, the Kroningswind windfarm will produce, once connected, green electricity for the next 25 years. SPIE’s activities include connecting the 33-kV wind park with several different forms of cabling, the engineering and the setup of various switchgear. SPIE will also address associated issues such as emergency facilities, fiber optic cables and camera, control and security systems.
