SPI Energy, through its subsidiary SPI Solar Inc., has secured approximately 465 acres across two parcels for the development of a utility-scale solar project in Illinois in the USA.
The 54 MW (78.4 MWdc) solar photovoltaic project is expected to produce up to 124,986 MW hours (MWh) of electricity in its first full year of operation and offsets carbon emissions of about 11,000 homes annually. The project will be built in Illinois' Will County.
