Spark Infrastructure Group has completed the purchase of a 100 MW/120 MWdc Bomen solar photovoltaic farm located in Wagga Wagga in New South Wales from Renew Estate, Australia.
The solar project, acquired at AUD 188 million (US$134.4 million), is slated for construction by the second quarter of 2019. The solar farm is expected to commence operation by 2020.
The facility has a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) deal with Westpac that will buy part of its output and large-scale renewable generation certificates (LGCs). It has also a PPA deal with Flow Power for up to 10 years.
Beon Energy Solutions, a unit of Victoria Power Networks, has been appointed as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for the project.
