Sonnedix Japan, on behalf of the Sonnedix Group of companies, has achieved commercial operation of the 26.5 MW Sonnedix Tanabu solar photovoltaic plant in Japan.
Located in the town of Yamada, Iwate prefecture, the plant is expected to produce 33,000 MWh of clean energy during its first full year of operation. This is the equivalent of powering more than 7,500 households, avoiding the emissions of more than 16,000 metric tons of CO2 per year.
Juwi Shizen Energy will be responsible for operations and maintenance services for the solar plant. The electricity generated by the solar plant will be sold through an 18-year plus Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
JERA Co. submitted its Primary Environmental Impact Consideration Document for the 356 MW Offshore wind Project located off the town of Happo and the city of Noshiro in Akita Prefecture, Japan.
