Powertis SAU, a unit of Spanish solar trackers maker Soltec Power Holdings SA, is partnering with Aquila Capital to build a solar photovoltaic portfolio in Italy with a combined capacity of 750 MW.
Powertis has sold a 51% stake in ten special-purpose vehicles (SPVs) that holds a total of 249 MW in the solar portfolio to Aquila Capital. The design capacities of these projects are ranging between 17 MWp to 52 MWp. Aquila Capital and Powertis will jointly develop the projects at 51/49 split of the cost. Aquila has an option to buy the 49% stake of Powertis once the project reaches commercial operation.
