Skyborn Renewables has completed the acquisition of the remaining 70% stake in the 111 MW Nordergründe offshore wind farm in Germany, increasing its ownership from 30% to 100% and becoming the sole owner of the asset. The wind farm, located in the German North Sea and operational since 2017, consists of 18 Senvion 6.2 MW turbines with sufficient generation capacity to supply renewable electricity to around 90,000 households.

The acquisition marks a strategic milestone in Skyborn's transition from an offshore wind developer to a fully integrated infrastructure platform that develops, builds, owns, and operates offshore wind assets over their entire lifecycle. Full ownership gives the company complete control over governance, operational decision-making, performance optimisation, and future investments, enabling more efficient management of the mature asset while maximising its long-term value.

Nordergründe has been part of Skyborn's portfolio since its development phase, with the company serving as construction manager and remaining actively involved throughout the project's lifecycle. The wind farm is now entering a new operational phase that requires streamlined decision-making and targeted investments, which Skyborn believes are best achieved under a single ownership structure. The company also plans to progressively internalise key operational capabilities to enhance flexibility, efficiency, and long-term asset performance. The transaction builds on several recent milestones for Skyborn, including the operational turnaround of the Yunlin offshore wind project in Taiwan and continued progress on the Gennaker project in Germany. Earlier this year, the company also signed a long-term integrated operations and maintenance agreement with Wind Multiplikator and Semco Maritime for Nordergründe, consolidating turbine, foundation, and offshore substation maintenance under a unified service framework to improve operational reliability and efficiency.
