Gamesa Electric, a unit of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, S.A., is to supply inverters to 400 MW of capacity being set up by Scatec Solar at the Benban solar park in Egypt.
The portfolio includes six solar PV power plants in Egypt totaling 400 MW. The projects are located in the Benban solar park in Aswan in Upper Egypt. The complex is comprised of 66 units of Gamesa 5 MVA PV solar power stations which include a total of 132 E-2.5 MVA-SB-I PV inverters at 1500Vdc.
The projects will provide all the power generated to the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
Furthermore, Gamesa will supply a power plant controller to coordinate the response of the PV inverters and fulfil the plant’s connection requirements according to the country’s grid code.
