GES to build 263 MW wind farm in Egypt

GES is already working on the installation of a 263 MW windfarm 25 km from Ras Ghareb (Egypt). This is a three phases project that will be executed during the remaining of 2018 and the first half year 2019.

The first wind farm executed under a BOO scheme (Build, Own and Operate) and is part of the Egyptian government's drive to increase the proportion of renewable in the mix energy. A target of 7 GW wind generation in 2022. The energy produced of the windfarm will be sold to the EETC (Egyptian)under a PPA (Power Purchase Agreement). 

GES will be working for the assembly of the 125 turbines of 2.1 MW that will make up the park.

GES was established in Egypt in 2006 and since then, it has undertaken construction projects for a total of 320 MW, another 380 MW in turbine installation and provides maintenance services as well.
