Shapoorji Pallonji has won the tender launched by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for a 50 MW floating solar photovoltaic project located in Uttar Pradesh, India.
The company has bested the fixed upper tariff ceiling of INR3.32 (US$0.047)/kWh set by SECI with the bid offer of INR3.29 (US$0.046)/kWh. Shapoorji Pallonji will enter a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) deal with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) for the project.
The facility is part of the 150 MW (50 MW X 3) of grid-connected floating solar power projects at Rihand Dam (also known as Govind Ballabh Pant Sagar Reservoir) in Sonbhadra district.
