The Government of Serbia is in talks with the UGT Renewables, a US-based renewable energy developer, for the development and construction of up to 1 GW solar photovoltaic projects across the country.
The partnership will install solar panels on about 2,000 hectares of land area and offset around 1.9 million tons of carbon dioxide annually.
The terms of cooperation will also explore energy storage systems to complement the solar capacities.
