Aura Power has been granted planning permission by Selby District Council for a 100 MW battery storage system at Drax Power Station in North Yorkshire, UK.
The system will provide enough electricity to power over 26,000 homes at peak times of demand. The project area has the available nearby grid connection for import and export, 600 meters from the site.
Construction is expected to start in 2024, following an agreement on a Construction Traffic Management Plan with the council.
