ScottishPower Renewables has put into operation its 50 MW Beinn an Tuirc 3 onshore wind farm project in the UK.

Located on the Kintyre peninsula in southwest Scotland, the project consists of 14 wind turbines. The farm has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Amazon.com Inc. The Beinn an Tuirc 3 will supply green energy for the operation of data centers of Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the UK.

The wind farm is the biggest project that is built without a government support scheme in Scotland.
