The planning and environmental appeals division (DPEA) of the Scottish Government has rejected the wind project proposed by ABO Wind UK Ltd.
The Scottish Border Council's Planning and Building Standards Committee refused the planning application for the 24.5 MW Barrel Law Wind Farm project after the appealed file by ABO Wind in November 2018. The authority cited the possible adverse environmental effects that will be brought by the development of the project.
The wind farm is supposedly be erected in the Scottish Borders area, near Ashkirk and Roberton and the town of Hawick. The proposal would consist of seven 3.5-MW turbines with tip heights of up to 132 meters.
