NextEra Energy Resources has been awarded the power purchase agreement with the Salt River Project in connection with the solar-plus-battery storage Sonoran Energy Center and Storey Energy Center Projects in Arizona.
The Sonoran Energy Center will have a rated capacity of 250 MW and will be built in Little Rainbow Valley, south of Buckeye. The project will be complemented with a 1 GWh energy storage system.
The 88 MW Storey Energy Center is a solar and energy storage system. It will be developed south of Coolidge.
The two facilities are expected to be commissioned by June 2023.
