NextEra Energy Resources, a unit of NextEra Energy Inc., plans to start the construction of the 260 MW Sonoran solar photovoltaic project in October.
The project will be built in the city of Buckeye in Maricopa County in Arizona. The facility will be built on about 3,000 acres of land and has an integrated 260 MW battery energy storage system.
NextEra Energy will invest up to US$600 million in the project.
