RWE and TotalEnergies have agreed to jointly develop two large offshore wind projects off the German coast with a total capacity of 4 GW.

TotalEnergies will acquire a 50% equity stake in both projects from RWE. The sites, N-9.1 and N-9.2, located around 110 to 115 km northwest of Germany's Borkum Island, have the potential to host offshore wind farms with a combined capacity of 2 GW each. Investment decisions for N-9.1 are expected by 2027 and for N-9.2 by 2028. Offshore construction could commence in 2029 and 2030, with full commissioning targeted for 2031 and 2032, respectively.
