RheinEnergie AG has completed the construction of a 19 MW solar photovoltaic farm in Bavaria, Germany.

The solar farm, which covers over 20 football fields, is located in the town of Hemau and is capable of providing enough power for around 6,400 households per year, the entire town.

RheinEnergie won the project in one of the Federal Network Agency's innovative tenders, and will get a predetermined market premium for a portion of the electricity that the park will feed into the grid.
