Repsol SA has started construction works on the 126.6 MW Kappa solar photovoltaic located in Manzanares, in the province of Ciudad Real, Castilla-La Mancha autonomous region.
The project will be composed of two of 45 MW and a 36 MW plant, with an estimated investment cost of EUR100 million (US$108.7 million).
The Kappa solar project is scheduled to be operational in 2021 and expected to generate enough power to provide electricity for about 183,000 homes. Once operational, the project is expected to offset over 250,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
