The partnership of the Renewable Energy Partners (REP) and Cubico Sustainable Investments is set to file for planning and development approval for the planned 200 MW phase I of the 500 MW Wambo wind project in Queensland.
The project will be located in Bunya Mountains, approximately 200 kilometers North West of Brisbane, near Jandowae in the Western Downs region of Queensland in Australia. Phase I of the project will consist of around 35 wind turbines.
The developers are now conducting initial environmental and planning assessment studies before they proceed with the submission of the planning application.
Once completed, the 500 MW wind complex can generate enough power for about 170,500 households and offsets over 1.1 million of carbon emission.
