Renova start operations on 48 MW Karumai West Solar Power Station in Iwate

Renova Inc has started commercial operations at a 48 MW Karumai West Solar Power Station in Iwate perfecture.

The plant will operate under a feed-in tariff (FiT) of JPY36 (US$ 0.33) per kWh. Its annual earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) are estimated to reach JPY1.4 billion (US$ 12.9 billion).

The Karumai West Solar Power Station is the firm's 11th large-scale renewable energy park in operation across Japan with an estimated annual output of about 50 million kWh, enough to supply 15,000 local households.
