Ratch Australia, a unit of Thai power producer Ratch Group, has secured a planning permit for the development and construction of the 70 MW Morwell solar photovoltaic project in the Latrobe Valley of Victoria, Australia.
The State of Victoria's Department of Environment, Land, Water, and Planning has issued the permit to build the project that will have up to 230,000 solar photovoltaic (PV) modules on about 170 hectares of land. A 5-MW/30 MWh battery energy storage system will be installed during the second phase of the project.
The construction of the project is expected to start before the end of the last quarter of 2022.
