The State Government of Queensland has granted Development Approval of the 240 MW Dulacca wind project proposed by RES Group in the Western Downs region.
The project will comprise of up to 56 wind turbines, battery storage and ancillary infrastructure. The project will connect into the existing transmission network located adjacent to the project.
When constructed, the project is expected to generate enough clean energy to power the equivalent of 150,000 homes. It will create around 400 jobs during its construction, and a further 35 during the 30-year operation of the wind farm, alongside other associated economic benefits for the region. The project will also offer a community fund for local good causes, with a value of AUD1.25m over the lifetime of the project.
