Prequalification invitations published for battery storage infrastructure in Maldives

Ministry of Finance and Treasury of Maldives has launched an invitation for prequalifications seeking a private developer for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) infrastructure on various locations in the Maldives. The project is divided into two lots and will be procured using the Supply, Install, Commission, Operate & Transfer model of public-private partnership (PPP). The lots are divided into the following:

  • Lot 1: 24MW/24MWh capacity BESS on locations at S. Hithadhoo, S. Hulhudhoo-Meedhoo, Gn. Fuvahmulah, GDh. Thinadhoo, HDh. Kulhudhuffushi, B. Eydhafushi, and Lh. Hinnavaru;
  • Lot 2: 16MW/16MWh capacity BESS on locations at t L. Atoll Islands, Lh. Naifaru, Dh. Kudahuvadhoo, GA.Villingili, and Sh. Funadhoo.
