Ørsted has announced the signing of an 80 MW power purchase agreement (PPA) with Bloomberg for renewable energy generated by the Mockingbird Solar Center, a 471 MW project located in Lamar County, northeast of Dallas, Texas, USA.
The facility currently under construction is being installed on about 4,900 acres of land and can power over 80,000 homes over a year and help meet the energy needs of Texas during peak demand periods by providing reliable and flexible solar powered electricity.
The solar farm has created 500 jobs during peak construction and is estimated to inject US$215 million into the local economy over the life of the project.
