Genex Power Limited, the developer of the 250 Mw Kidston pumped hydropower project, has finalized the negotiation with the connection arrangement with the Powerlink Queensland.
The deal covers the Generator Connection and Access Agreement (GCAA) with Powerlink that provides the construction of a new single circuit 275 kV transmission system from the hydro project to the National Electricity Market via a new switching station at Mt. Fox.
The transmission assets will be funded by the special purpose vehicle (SPV) set up for the project and the funding from the Queensland Government. To support the terms in GCAA, Genex has executed a transmission Support Charges Deed (TSCD) with Powerlink. Genex will support the balance of the operating costs of the connection assets until their development.
