Pondera has been mandated by Saare Wind Energy to conduct its environmental impact assessment of the Saaremaa offshore wind farm in Estonia. The wind farm is expected to consist of a maximum of 100 turbines with a total capacity of more than 1,000 MW.
Preparations for the Saaremaa Offshore Wind Farm started in 2015. In May 2020, the Estonian government decided that Saare Wind Energy could proceed with the application procedure for the environmental permit and the accompanying environmental impact assessment.
Pondera is advising Saare Wind Energy, of which Van Oord is a shareholder, on this EIA and the required research.
