The City of Zurich Pension Fund (PKZH) has completed the acquisition of the 49.5% stake in the 48.9 MW solar photovoltaic project in Portugal from its strategic partner, Swiss utility company EKZ.
The Cotovio solar farm consists of 104 400 solar panels that provide 7631 homes with clean energy and allow to avoid 34 026 tons of CO2 per year. The facility has been in operation since 2021. Voltalia, the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor of the project, built the solar farm on high slopes of around 30 degrees.
