Pivot Power, an EDF Renewables company specializing in battery storage and infrastructure for electric vehicle charging, has commissioned the 50 MW/50 MWh energy storage project located in Kemsley, in Kent, England.
The 50MW lithium-ion battery energy storage system is directly connected to the high-voltage transmission network at the Kemsley substation. The project will help to support the transition to a decarbonised electricity system. It will also provide essential flexibility to support the integration of more renewables and accelerate the UK’s net zero future.
Wartsila Corp has supplied GEMS Digital Energy Platform and battery storage technology for the project.
