The Octopus Energy Generation has signed a partnership agreement with Sherbro Alliance Partners (SAP) to develop a wind farm in Sierra Leone as part of the Sherbro Island City project.
The initiative includes placing as many as five wind turbines and solar panels equipped with battery storage on Sherbro Island, situated in the Bonthe district within the Southern province of Sierra Leone. SAP, the company leading this effort, is spearheading the establishment of the Sherbro Island City Special Economic Zone (SEZ), a demarcated semi-autonomous region to convert the island into a prominent economic center and eco-city in West Africa. The wind farm is designed to provide the future city with its power supply.
