North Iowa Municipal Electric Cooperative Association (NIMECA) has entered into a long-term agreement to purchase energy from Willow Creek Wind in Butte County, South Dakota, US. NIMECA supplies power to 13 municipal utilities in northern Iowa.
The project is located on approximately 20,000 acres of private ranch land, interconnects to the Western Area Power Administration’s 115 kV transmission line. The project is operational since September 2020.
