The joint venture company of US energy services platform Orbital Energy Group Inc and Jingoli Power LLC has started the construction of the 130 MWdc/100 MW solar photovoltaic project located in Alabama, USA.
The project is being built for Lightsource bp under an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract. The solar plant will have up to 350,000 solar panels that are targeted for commissioning by the end of 2022.
The financial close of the project was achieved in December 2021 and the signing of the power purchase agreement (PPA) was done with the Alabama Municipal Electric Authority (AMEA) in 2019.
