Brazilian energy company Omega Geracao SA has entered into an agreement with the EDF Renewables for the sale of a 50% stakes in the Ventos da Bahia 1 and 2 wind complexes in Brazil.
The deal, valued at about BRL661.7 million (US$117.7 million), covers the sale of stakes in seven wind parks located the municipalities of Bonito and Mulungu do Morro, Bahia state with a combined capacity of 182.6 MW. The transaction will be paid in cash for 55% of the value while the remaining balance will be paid over long-term debt.
The deal will be subjected to customary conditions that includes approval by project lenders and the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) of Brazil.
