Omega Geracao SA has completed the purchase of a 50% stakes in the 321 MW Pirapora solar complex located in the municipality of Pirapora, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Omega has acquired 30% interest from EDF Renewables do Brasil and 20% from Canadian Solar UK Projects Ltd for a total consideration of BRL1.1 billion (US$280.17 million). Omega paid BRL456 million (US$122.4 million) in cash and the remaining BRL644 million (US$178.89 million) represents the assumption of debt.
With this transaction, EDF and Omega now each hold 50% interest in the solar complex.
