The Independent Planning Commission of the State of New South Wales has approved the development of the 300 MW solar photovoltaic project in Reiverina Region.
FRV Services Australia Pty Ltd, a unit of Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV), sought planning approval for the 300-megawatt solar farm on 605 hectares of agricultural land 5km northeast of Walla Walla.
The AUD399million (US$294.6 million) Walla Walla Solar Farm development is projected to create 250 jobs during the 20-month construction period, as well as ongoing operational roles.
The project is expected to be operational by the last quarter of 2022.
