NextEra Energy Resources secures planning permit for 50 MW solar project in Dix

NextEra Energy Resources LLC, a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Inc., has secured the final planning permission for the development of a 50 MW solar photovoltaic project in the Town of Dix. 

The New York State Office of Renewable Energy Siting has issued permit to the developer Watkins Glen Solar Energy Center LLC to build the Watkins solar photovoltaic (PV) project in the Schuyler County. 

Once operational, the project can generate enough power for the consumption of up to 12,000 homes and offsets up to 30,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions annually.
