The General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone and H2-Industries Inc. have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to build a US$4 billion waste-to-hydrogen facility at a new greenfield site in the East Port-Said integrated zone in Egypt.
The project is expected to produce 300,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year, while also disposing of 4 million tonnes of municipal solid waste (MSW). H2-Industries plans to deliver MSW to the waste-to-hydrogen production plant using a fleet of hydrogen-powered waste trucks.
