The government of Brazil's Ceara state has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Grupo Jepri for the development of a green hydrogen project in the northeastern state.
The consortium intends to allocate EUR3.3 billion (USD 3.6 billion) for the initiative. Situated in Ceara's Pecem Industrial and Port Complex (CIPP), the green hydrogen plant is anticipated to have a capacity of approximately 1.2 million tonnes of environmentally friendly fuel annually. The construction is set to commence in 2025, with hydrogen production expected to start in either Q4 of 2026 or Q1 of 2027.
