MoU signed for 3,600 MW power plant in Bangladesh

The Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with General Electric for the development of the 3,600 MW LNG-based power plant located in Moheshkhali, Bangladesh.

Under the contract, BPDB will hold 51% while General Electric will own 30% to the project. The remaining stakes will be allocated for the potential investors.

An estimated US$1.6 billion and US$2.8 billion cost will be made for the land and power plant development, respectively.
