The Bangladesh Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority (BAERA) has given its approval for the construction of the second part of the nuclear power facility.
BAERA will take care of the design and commissioning of two pressurised water reactors, each with 1.2GW of generation capacity, while Atomstroexport will be responsible for the design of the unit.
The project with a $12.6 billion investment is expected to become operational in 2023 and 2024.
