Modern Energy Management (MEM) has been appointed as the Owner’s Representative by Climate Investor One (CIO) and ST International (STI) to initiate commercial operations on the 48 MW Tra Vinh Wind Power (TWPC) project in Vietnam.
The intertidal wind farm has been under development since 2017. The project is a joint investment venture of Climate Investor One, a blended finance facility delivering renewable energy infrastructure projects in emerging markets, and ST International, a South Korean energy company. MEM was responsible for the overall project management, technical and design support, and management of the tender for EPC services to include technical support during the contract negotiations.
MEM will now finalize the project construction and initiate commercial operations on behalf of the owners. Once operation, Tra Vinh wind farm will be able to provide 181 GWh of electricity annually, avoiding 69,983 tCO2 or equivalent annually. The project is expected to generate 350 construction jobs and serve 127,822 people.
