The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has launched a draft tender for the Request for Selection (RfS) for the selection of offshore wind power developers for allocation of sea-bed lease rights for the development of offshore wind power project located off the coast of Tamil Nadu, India.
The scope of work covers the construction of up to 400 MW offshore wind power farms through International Competitive Bidding; grid connectivity and long-term open access under the General Network Access (GNA) framework; and a power purchase agreement (PPA) of the energy that will be produced from the plant with a third party.
The actual MW capacity to be installed by the developer in the allocated block shall be determined at the stage of the Survey Lease Deed agreement. The actual MW capacity to be installed shall be determined after a detailed survey carried out by the developer and at the time of preparing the detailed project report (DPR). The projects must be commissioned within 48 months from the effective date of the Concessionaire Agreement.
The deadline for the submission of comments for the draft tender is on November 28, 2022.
