Chinese turbine supplier MingYang has secured a deal to supply turbines to the 30 MW Taranto offshore wind farm off Italy, its first contract in Europe.
MingYang Smart Energy will supply ten of its MySE3.0-135 wind turbines for the offshore project located 100m off the harbor of Taranto, replacing the Senvion turbines that were initially ordered for the wind farm.
A 25-year full O&M service contract is included in the deal with project developer Renexia.
Hardware delivery is due to commence in the summer of 2021.
