Ichnusa Wind Power Srl, a renewable energy developer based in Milan, is set to develop a 540 MW floating wind farm off the coast of Sardegna, Italy.
The 504 MW Sardegna Sud Occidentale wind farm located off the west coast of San Pietro island. It will consist of up to 42 wind turbines of 12 MW each capacity. The project represents about EUR1.4 billion (US$1.71 billion) of investment.
Ichnusa Wind Power is applying for a 30-year concession of the Port of Portovesme that will be used for the underground and subsea cables of the wind farm. The concession will cover waters lying beyond the limits of the territorial sea that will be used for the installation of the subsea cables.
