Metropolitan Energy Authority to build two waste-to-energy projects in Bangkok

The Metropolitan Energy Authority (MEA) of Thailand, in partnership with Newsky Energy Thailand, Chinese-owned Newsky Energy, is planning to build two waste-to-energy facilities in Bangkok. 

The projects will be built in the districts of Nong Khaem and On Nut with each generating capacity of 35 MW. The facilities will be connected to the smart grid system. 

The projects are expected to be operational by 2024.
