The subsidiary of Swiss energy group MET, MET Renewables Holding, has secured approval from the Bulgarian antitrust authority for its plan to acquire Eolica Bulgaria.
Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) has approved the acquisition noting that the transaction could not lead to the strengthening of a dominant position on the local market. Eolica Bulgaria is a Spanish joint-stock company is registered in Bulgaria in 2004 and is involved in the fields of research, construction, and exploitation of renewable energy sources. The company developed and owned the 60 MW wind farm project located in Suvorovo.
Any interested parties can challenge the decision of CPC before Sofia Region Administrative Court by November 5, 2021.
