Mercury, a renewable energy company in New Zealand, is set to build 119 MW Turitea wind farm located near Palmerston North.
The NZD256 million (US$174 million) project will be equipped with 33 wind turbines capable of delivering 470GWh per annum on average energy.
The company has commissioned a unit of Vestas to provide the turbines, construct and maintain the project. Mercury has also entered into a separate agreement with Electrix and Transpower for the design and construction of the 220kV transmission line and grid connection to Linton.The facility will be connected to the national grid at Linton and is expected to be commissioned in 2020.
